Pinning Apps To The Shelf on Chromebook

The shelf is like the Dock in Mac or the Taskbar in Windows. We can place commonly used apps on the Shelf for easy access. The apps have to be installed first before they can be pinned to the Shelf. Let’s find an app to pin. Click once on the Launcher.

I access my Google Drive often and it would be nice to have it on the Shelf for quick access. We need to right click on the app’s icon get a contextual menu. To right click, press the alt button and click on the track pad. When the contextual menu appears, select pin to shelf.

The Drive app will be pinned to our Shelf. To unpin an app from the Shelf we right click on the app and select unpin from the contextual menu.
